Some Retail Energy Providers include a fixed monthly base charge, regardless of how much electricity you use. Important to know: Retail Energy Providers set this charge, and it varies by plan. How we help: We compare plans that minimize or eliminate unnecessary base charges, especially for customers with lower usage.

This is the core of your electricity cost — your kWh usage multiplied by the rate in your plan. Key point: Retail Energy Providers control this rate, and it can change depending on whether your plan is fixed, variable, or promotional. How we help: We help you lock in lower fixed-rate plans when available, protecting you from sudden price increases and reducing long-term costs.

This section may appear as a credit on your bill, reducing your total charges. This can apply when: • You have solar panels and receive renewable-related credits • Your electricity plan includes promotional bill credits (often based on usage thresholds) Important note: These credits are plan-dependent and can change if you no longer meet usage requirements. How we help: We ensure you’re on a plan where bill credits actually work in your favor, not against you — avoiding plans where missing a usage range increases your bill.

These charges cover the cost of maintaining power lines, poles, meters, and restoring power during outages. Very important: Retail Energy Providers do NOT control these charges. They are regulated and set by your local Electric Transmission & Distribution Utility (TDU), such as: • Oncor • CenterPoint Energy • AEP Texas Central • AEP Texas North • Texas-New Mexico Power • Lubbock Power & Light These charges are the same no matter which provider you choose in your area. How we help: While we can’t change delivery charges, we offset them by lowering your energy rate, which is the portion you can control.

This is the final amount due — combining energy charges, delivery fees, base charges, and credits. What matters most: Even though some charges are fixed, your plan selection plays the biggest role in what you ultimately pay.
